Councilman disputes pier plaza incident (1/13)

According to a Police Department memorandum obtained by The Beach Reporter last Wednesday, a Hermosa Beach City Councilman and Planning Commissioner allegedly used obscenities and were verbally abusive to several employees working at a downtown bar in early December, which, according to several witnesses, they threatened to close down.

Wi-Fi plan fails from a deadlock council vote (1/13)

After much public debate and input, the Hermosa Beach City Council once again deadlocked on the issue of whether to move forward and approve the second phase of a citywide Wi-Fi system that would provide free wireless Internet access to residents and visitors of Hermosa Beach.

EIR out on Valley School building project (1/13)

The Hermosa Beach School District recently published online its draft Environmental Impact Report on the future construction projects of a new gym and classrooms at Hermosa Valley School. The report, completed last month, and now on view for the public, addresses a myriad of environmental issues and cites potential parking impacts as the biggest area of concern defining it as consequential and unavoidable.
